According to that gearing chart in the FAQ it should be around 2500 rpm @ 70mph but I'm assuming that's not in overdrive, am I correct?
If so I should be looking at around 1800rpm in overdrive, right?
2380. The attached chart should help.

Yeah but I'm just not sure if those numbers are in overdrive

It states "with full time overdrive use." I have not re- geared an auto because I have had 3 manuals, but those that have run trails with me state that 5.13s got them back to stock with an auto.

That depends on the trans for one. If you're running an automatic, then it'll be different than the 6-sp manual. Tire size makes a difference, too. On mine, with 5.13's and 37's, I'm sitting at about 2300-2500 @ 70mph in OD.

And you can correct for shift points with the ProCal. it allows you to compensate for tire size and gearing. That's what I use because there wasn't anything with a tuning option available when I did my lift and tires. Will be upgrading to a Superchips shortly, though.

35's + 5.13's here. I pulled a small trailer to Moab with this setup, and it worked well. Depending on wind or terrain I saw anywhere from 13's to 16's MPG.

Without the trailer I get around low 14's in town, and have seen upper 18s on the highway.

I wouldn't go 4.88s as I love the 5.13's.
You will still see some downshifts, but it is greatly improved.

I ran 5.13s on mine with 35s for about 60000 miles and it worked great but the biggest thing is you have to reprogram it or it won't change gears right

I sort of agree here. Seems like I'd have better acceleration and throttle response with 5.38's, but I can still get up to 90 mph on the highway with 5.13's and 37's. Not that I really ever need to, though.

The chart IS for Overdrive On

(OD for the 3.8's is .69, so to get OD/Off, divide the rpm by .69)
2500 / .69 = 3623 rpm with OD Off

This is useful for people running taller tires who have not regeared.
auto, 35's, 3.73 = 1730 rpm @ 70 (OD On)
1730 / .69 = 2507 rpm @ 70 (OD Off)

auto, 35's, 5.38 = 2495 rpm @ 70

So at 70 mph ... 35's with 3.73's and OD Off = 35's with 5.38's and OD On

'08JKUR

1)--5.38/lockers

2)--auto--42rle

3)-- aux coolers (2)

4)--33.6" hankooks

5)--70 mph--2600 rpm (OD)

6)--17.2 mpg/towing 14.9mpg

7) throttle response--LIGHTNING

8)--JKUR weight 5150lbs--UNLOADED

She will even stay in OD when towing my 1000lb trailer, but

I don't adviseit, because it raises the auto tranny op temps-
