Do you plow with your JK?
I've seen small non-commercial plows on Wranglers here and there, and I've always been interested in learning more about the cost, specific brands, required mods, wear and tear on the vehicle, etc. I have a 2011 2-dr JK Sahara.
Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

I don't plow with my JK but have thought about many times. I plowed for many years commercially .
Plowing snow is very hard on vehicles especially the transmission.
The best plow is usually the one with the best LOCAL service. For what a plow would cost to add to your JK, you can pick up a beater 3/4 ton pick up with a plow already attached.
Lots of good info on plowsite.com

plow
I put a plow on my riding mower - john deere, and it works well for me and my driveway, cheaper than a plow for the jeep, and let's me use the mower more.
but it does beat the CRAP out of anything you plow with... the frame, transmission, everything just takes a beating. which is why you see so many old plow trucks.
Unless you are clearing your whole neighborhood, get a snow blower

I work in a shop where we install plows in the winter time on all kinds of vehicles including wranglers. Usually a JK can hold a 7.6 fisher hts plow. It is a light plow using a light gauge steel and run for around 4500. The plow puts stress on your front end components and can really damage a lot of you hit a curb or raised man hole really hard. When plowing it can really heat up the transmission but a cooler can solve that problem. The only thing that gets removed from the JK is the air dam under the front bumper. It's no big deal. Any questions feel free to pm me!

Thanks for all the replies, guys. The simple design of this one is pretty intriguing, I may take a closer look. I'm also not surprised to hear many of you say plowing in general puts a lot of strain on the body and transmission. That's why I've always been kinda "meh" on the whole idea of plowing with a JK, but this is definitely some great food for thought. Thanks again.

If you are looking to just do your private drive....meh I might consider it.
I've ploughed snow for many years and as others have said it's very hard on your vehicle
I've Seen 1 ton pick ups take a beating, trans, u joints, axle shafts.
Just like I wouldn't take a F350 on a right trail I don't think I'd plough with my JK (select the right tool for the job)
I've moved from 1 ton pick ups to 150 HP 4WD Tractor with 20 foot wide "airport plough"....moves a lot of snow in a short period of time
Cheers
