Do shocks make a difference?
Good Friday to ya'll! I'm curious if on my stock JK Jeep (2010) if upgrading my my OEM shocks to some Billstein's or something will make a difference. I don't have plans to lift my JK in the near future. Just curious if this is a good thing to do?
Thanks for any help!

I just lifted my Rubi and decided to go with the Bilstein shocks based on recommendations from a lot of people. I've got a perfectly good set up Rubi shocks sitting in my garage that have only 1500 miles on them. Also have the Teraflex adaptors I bought but never used because I went with new shocks after the fact.
never thought about selling them. Is there a mrket for OEM parts like the Rubi shocks?
Edit*** Never checked out the for sale section on the forum! Guess there is a market for these.

I grabbed a set of Rubi takeoffs for my X-model, and they made a nice difference. The stock X ones were absolutely terrible. You don't realize how bad they are until you get them off and compare them to the Rubi's side by side. THe stockers can be compressed with almost no effort, and they don't rebound at all. The Rubi shocks aren't the greatest either, but the improvement for the cost was well worth it. I think I spent $50 on them from a local board member here. They will get me through fine until I can save enough for my lift.
I'm sure going with an aftermarket shock would help more, but I would have a hard time justifying the cost if I wasn't going to lift.

I can't speak for the Rubi shocks, but bilstiens are worth it. I replaced the stockers on my XJ years back, and where it would previously bottom out easily it didn't, and where it would wheel hop in the sand, it stayed under control. Very good shocks IMO.
