Default Do I need to change wheels?

Hey my JK brethren. I have a 2011 4D Rubicon. I have installed a Procomp 2.5 inch lift kit and I plan on changing to 315/70R17 (or comparable) tires. Stock is 255/75/R17. My question is, with the lift kit installed, can I retain the stock wheels or do I still need to change to a set with shallower back spacing? I plan to eventually change but I would like to save some coin for a bit. Thanks to all in advance.

With that size tire, really with any and a lift, you will need some spacers. 1.5" spidertrax is what Ive got and are doing great.

There are a bunch of threads about the pros and cons of spacers. But yes, you either can run aftermarket wheels with 4.5" of backspacing or less or you can run 1.5" spacers and your stock wheels. Just remember to use locktite and remove the factory retainer clips on the wheel studs.

You might rub your track bar at full lock and the spacers make your rig look better anyway!

I thought about the spacer solution but I wasn't sure about the reliability of adding spacers. Being unfamiliar with it, do spacers have any drawbacks?

I'm using 1.5" spacers with 315's. 3yrs now no issues at all. If you go spacer route, be sure they are 'hub centric'

Essentially, adding spacers is physically the same thing as changing to wheels with less backspacing. There are a few threads on this subject. The search button is your friend
