You'll have to be more specific - what type of distributor?

I don't think I'd see a benefit over the stock coil in the rpm range I operate in most of the time.
The claim of dyno proven hp/torque gains is probably at the top end. How often do we operate our JKs at the top end?

Regarding the claims of easier starting, smoother idle, and better throttle response, mine already starts very easily, idles smooth enough that I have to pay close attention to know it's idling, and the throttle response follows pedal movement very well.

I would give it a try if I needed a new coil, and it wasn't covered under warranty.

I wouldn't buy one to replace a functioning OEM coil on the premise it's an upgrade.

So basically this is really only worth it if my stick coil is going bad? I won't see a big improvement

That's my belief. I would try it only if my coil was going bad.
