Default differential swap

i would like to replace the d35 in my stock 08 X unlimited and upgrade to a d44 to match my rear d44

can this b done ? how much will it cost ? where can i get it ?

mainly looking to regear down to 5.13s from my 3.21s

Your front is a Dana 30. It's easily done with some cash. Buy a new factory 44 or check the for sale section for a used one

wow thought i read somewhere it was a dana35 oops. they really cheaped out ouch. thanks for the info.

does anyone know why it would be beneficial to upgrade to a dana44 from a dana30 ?

can i upgrade the gears in a dana30 to 5.13 to match the rear ? cuz thats where you change gears right ? lol sorry noob i know only enough to give myself and others headaches lol

There's no such thing as a front 35, the Dana 35 is a rear axle for TJ's. Although a few unlucky JKs have them too.

Anyways i outters are the same with the 30 and 44. I would just upgrade the 30.

Yes, you can run 5.13's in the Dana 30
