Is the off road ability badly effected to the point where your 35s advantage over smaller tires is overturned into a far worse position?

If I tow 55 to 60 and maintaining it for most of the trip I would actually be happy to a degree

Just got my 4.88 gears installed two weeks ago...At 115-120 KM - RPM at 3000...2012 JKU - Automatic...35" tires
Noticed huge difference on take off...

okay I have my 315/70/17 on now I loaded superchips map and I am rather impressed by no means a rocket but maintanins well and towed my R850kg loaded trailer comfortably at speeds of 60-70m/h. I am very happy. Sure I think the re gear will make it much better but it certainly is not a nesesaty I have to note that my O/D is lost most of the time and for some reason cruise control is a bit touchy so she wants to hunt more but otherwise I am very happy.
