Diff Cover Vs Rancho Skid?
Which one do you think is better and/or more durable... The Rancho Glide plate for the front Diff, or a new Diff cover like ARB or Great Lake Offroad??
Glide Plate is $145-
Diff Covers are about the same price

in my opinion they look to serve two different purposes. the glide plate looks like it, in essence, deflects the obstacle, where to covers are built to take the impact... did that make sense? ive had a couple drinks......
i like the look of an after-market cover, not too keen on the look of the glide plate

I am not a big fan of rock crawling as I only have the 32" wheels, but even on dirt roads, that one rock seems to get my attention and I would feel protected with the skid.

That slider doesn't protect the pinion or u-joints. It looks like if you were hung up on something it would b-line the rock right into the flange busting sh!t up. The diff casing is really strong, the cover is all that needs protecting. That or go with a skid that covers up past the pinion like the aev Nth.

I thought about those too a while ago. Then, I realized that I would be sacraficing clearence. Also, it would get packed with dirt, mud, etc. It also just looks like another point to get high centered on. Riddler diff covers are the way to go.

I just got the Rancho differential covers, front and back, and love them. I considered the skid but I don't do a lot of rock crawling. Most of the places I go have a ton of trees and I can just see that skid digging into a stump or a felled tree.
