Default Diff cover question

Can you use a ARB Diff cover even if you don't a locker on your axle?

Thanks, I know it was a noob question, but I didn't want to order it and then not be able to use it.

On another note, is the front D44 and rear covers any different? I was looking to order it, but it doesn't clarify front or rear. It just says ARB D44 Diff cover.

in retrospect i think i would like the black ones better, but i had already put my red ones on.
