Default Diesel from Sprinter?

Would this be a good diesel choice for the JK?
Is the horsepower too low?

154 @ 3400 RPM
280 @ 1200-2400 RPM
5 speed auto
Sprinter Curb Weight: 5476 lbs
JK 4 Dr Rubicon Curb Weight: 4315 lbs

The Sprinter I drive at work is a beast. I wouldnt be unhappy with that in a Jeep. Empty, I can get the back end to slide around a bit with the TC off.

The CRD would be an easier swap though.

It is the old HP vs torque question. If you look at Land Rovers diesels they have very little HP but gobs of torque. LR also modified their diesel for off road conditions. (just like Jeep did for the 3.8) The new LR Defender will have the Ford Transit diesel, I believe 2.4liters. At this point I would like any diesel in the USA Wrangler. But remember MD still has 20% stake at Chrysler. They now have 50 state compliant diesels. Both 4 and 6 cylinder..........

but I would do it with a manual untill they get the tranny shutter problem fixed
