Wanting to price out some add on's for when i get my 09 Rubicon JKU here in a few months
i plan on running 35s and it is going to be a DD but i want to be able to hit the trails decently hard on the weekends
what would you wheeling veterans out there recommend for protection and reinforcement like some skids and axle beefing?
looking for opinions and experiences spending money on sweet bumpers doesnt do me a whole lot of good if i snap and axle

The list could go on forever... oil pan skid, evap canister skid, diff covers, gas tank skid, rocker guards, EVO gussets and sleeves, chromo axles.....

Like Armycop said. Depends on how deep your wallet is.

Be a smart wheeler. A lift and 35's you're ok with some recovery points. Slow and low is the tempo.

I started with rails, PSC evap canister skid, next on my armor will be the Rancho oilpan skid, and some Rusty's diff armor. I am on 33s, but if I went to 35s I would get the Evo C gussets/sleeves. I am only doing 2" of lift, so I am trying to harden up the underside.

You're stock armor will protect you just fine so don't spend money on the same thing if you already have it. A must is either relocating your evap canister or put a skid over it. Equally important are sliders or rails and a beefed up armored rear bumper. (My back tire came off of a huge rock last week and crushed my rear bumper)

Relocate your evap canister and skid your lower control arms. Your rubi has OK stock rock rails.
Edit: going to run 35's? consider gusseting your front axle C's and replace that stock tie rod with something beefy.

I would stick with the rubi rails and get evo sleeves and gussets. Then I would go front bumper with winch.

The oilpan is extremely vulnerable as are the factory differential covers. I had a huge dent in my oil pan on my '07 before I put the Rancho skid on it. The diff covers will peel off if you drag it on a rock. The gas tank skids are flimsy too, mine were dented pretty bad after a couple wheeling trips. It depends on what terrain you are wheeling on, but the exhaust pipe usually gets pretty banged up too. But the main two problems are the oil pan and diffs. They will send you home on a tow truck if you destroy either.
