I think they will work great and stop the hood lift. I might get these later down the road but for now I like my fix. I did remove the spring and it did not stop my hood lift. I did put the rubber hose behind my seal and it did not fix my hood lift. Easy, cost effective, works!

Hood Latch Broken
I've done the wire tire mod and it seems to have eliminated the lift, though I haven't been out since in the worst conditions: A strong cross wind on a two lane highway with semi's passing the opposite direction. Those are the absolute scariest moments.

The only 'update", if you want to call it that, is that these are still about 3 weeks out, per Daystar. I have a set on order and will let you know when they arrive and how they work.
