Default DayStar hood latches - A MUST HAVE !!

Got the Daystar hood latches put on earlier this week, and they are the best $20 I have spent on the Jeep so far. Totally eliminated all hood bouncing, and mine was really bad around 60-70mph. This should have been my first mod as I have always been worried about the hood bouncing. I would think it might even improve performance a very tiny amount, now that my hood is not acting as a small sail!

For those that use their JK as a DD, I would highly recommend these latches, quick 5 minute mod. By the way you don't need to take the latch completely off, I did mine while they were still attached to the jeep.

Where did u find the latches for $20? I always see their $30+ dollars. I wouldn't mind this either although my hood bounce isn't as noticable

I've had mine on for almost a year now and still haven't had anymore hood bounce and the wind is terrible here.

Just got mine replaced under warranty...figured I would try that before spending my money on something that they should've done right in the first place!

I got mine at ORW for 24.99 about six months ago. My mind was made up when a big rig went by on country road at 60mph and my hood jumped and it scared the crap out of me. I have had zero issues since. Great cheap mod.

Has anyone actually had their hood pop open, or is it all just flutter? I get some pretty bad flutter FTTT, but don't really sweat it.

You can also take the spring (next to the hood latch) off and it will take care of the hood bounce....
