I Love the Upper Panel! The lower one sucks if you have a 6-speed so I did this (https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/jk-write-ups-39/another-switch-mount-option-above-rear-view-mirror-35335/) and now I love the Switch panel again! I purchased the 09' lower panel and it is awesome!

I have both upper and lower switch panels for all my lighting. Wish I had a bit more clearance for the switches as well but I guess its fine.

It is very usefull
But
Be aware
The compass is attached to it underneath.
I have clip on sunglasses that have magnets on them.
Compass does not like magnets!
Sunny days are fine as the glasses are on my nose, but, on cloudy days i get lost going home.

I also have both. I haven't installed the bottom one yet as I was waiting for my Lightforce lights to get in.

I ended up doing like most people here and putting rubber matting down in it. I went to Lowes and bought some drawer liner, like they use for tool boxes. Got like 10ft of it for $5. I cut to fit and attached with rubber cement. Held great. I don't have the bungee mod but haven't had a problem with things "flyin out" with the rubber matting gripping tight.

daystar upper dash panel made great spot for mounting my ipod, also lower panel worked great for mounting switches, very happy with both(except could have done without the big daystar logo on upper panel, but thats just me I do not like logo's or other flashy stuff on my jeep
