Default Damaged Steering Stabilizer

Hit a rock hard on my last wheeling trip and now my steeling stabilizer is bent, dented and leaking a little oil

I've got the Rugged Ridge ORV stabilizer on order but won't get to me for another week.

Question is: how safe is it to drive with my current stabilizer? And also, if you own a RR ORV stabilizer, how do you like it?

You can drive without a steering stabilizer. No problem just look at a relocation kit before you get a new one, puts it in a safer place.

Pull it off you can drive with out it just fine.

I wouldn't want that thing locking up on me and prevent me from turning my wheels.

Shouldn't be a problem for you. A properly set up Jeep will not have any issues running without a steering stabilizer. Just don't start booting down washboard roads at high speed.

Hey Chris - I did damage just like that when we were all at Bundy Hill a few weeks back. I haven't even ordered a replacement yet cause it really doesn't affect much if the rest of your suspension/steering is good. I've driven before without one on at all and I was really surprised how well it behaved. Nice to have, but not really necessary.

Thanks for the replies all. Yeah I bought the Rugged Ridge ORV stabilizer and it relocates it above the bar. The stock location is just asking for trouble.
