Daily Driver Lift and Tire Advice.

I have a 4" w/ 35's and 4.10's. It 's my daily driver and it is definetly liveable. You are not going to outrun anyone, but It will run 75 mph on the interstate with the only problem being what Pigina said, you lose momentum up long upgrades (and short ones). I drove it 5 hours or so, one way (first road trip) on a trip and it was fine, much better than I anticipated. I will re-gear one day, but it's not a proprity right now. Mine is a manual, but I've read some post where Auto guys thought that they had better get up and go than some manuals they had driven. It's all just perception. MY suggestion, if you're like me, get what you want the first time. It will save you money in the long run when, after you go with 33's now, you end up going with 35's anyway. Just my .02

I'm struggling with the same decision right now, but I'm also watching the price. I think first prize is 5 ProComps at $260/tire, 3" FT Ultimate w/M-Force shocks at $2000 and $1000 to regear (in CA) comes to a total of $4300 (which is eating into my budget for other mods).
I'm comparing that to a 2.5" Teraflex at $225, and 33" tires at $220 for a total of $1350. (no regearing issus or need for adjustable control arms)
I'm really trying to figure out an entry step into 35" tires, but I'm concerned if I skimp on the lift I may have issues because I'm not dialed in correctly. What do you guys think of FT Econo Kit + adjustable trackbar ($1000) and 35" Hankook Dynapro RT03 at $220 for a total of $2100. I got 4.10 gear ratio (I'll just deal the power loss).
Any thoughts?

Number one, you don't have to have adjustable control arms right off. Something like the Black Diamond kit is a good economy kit to start off and you can always go back and upgrade. I say B.D. instaed of the Skyjacker that I have, because 1) I've seen a B.D. first hand, good kit, frt adj trackbar, and 2) the lower controls arms that I got with my Skyjacker were pretty much a waste of $$$ (to bad I didn't realize that before hand) because they aren't that much stronger that stock(these are no TJ arms on the JK) and ultimately, you want to upgrade to Adj C.A.'s, which renders the Skyjackers useless.
I could get Hankooks, but believe it or not, they actually cost me more than the Nitto's (in an 18" at least).

I am thinking about going the extension rout and when my 32's wear out get some 33's. Then when they are done decide if i want to go to 35's with an 3" + Lift. I just dont have the money now to go all out. I figure if i do down the road all i will waste is the $225 for the TF 2.5 lift. And maybe at that point I could sell the lift on ebay for $100 or so and it would be like a $125 3yr rental lift. Also by that time we should know who makes the best premium lift.
Does anybody have pics of a Rubi on stock tires with the Tera 2.5? If it looks good i think i allready talked myself into it.

I just recently had a 3.5" Rubicon Express short arm kit installed on my JK along with 305/70/17's Goodyear MT/R's. Definitely felt the power loss with the bigger tires, especially since I have the auto tranny. And, noticed a drop in mileage, but that was to be expected. Planning on re-gearing to a 4.88 or 5.13. Yep, if you live in SoCal, Offroad Evolution or Offroad Unlimited do excellent work!
Do you have any pics of your JK with the RE 3.5" ?
I'd love to see them, because Im stuck on what 3-4" kit to get with the 35's I just ordered.
If you dont mind me asking, where did you get and what did it cost ya?
Ive seen two different prices about $200 apart and now and Im just wondering what it really should cost.
Thanks!

i have a 4inch superlift on mine with 37s and drive mine everyday everywhere. Its a 6spd with cold air intake and gibson exhaust. i honestly think i have plenty of power in all aspects of life on the road. I mean its no speed demon or anything but i can roll down the high way 70 no problem. If i hit any sort of large hill i just downshift to 5th gear and everything is just fine. i hold speed just fine. Just if your wondering how it wheels the only thing i want is more gearing for more control in technical sections. But even then i was able to do a black trail with nothing but the lift and tires. Oh by the way my 4dr is an X model.
