Default D30... Too Build or not too build

If you are considering building a stock D30 axle instead of buying a ProRock 44, don't it is a waste of money and at the end of the day it will still be a D30. If you are considering the Rubicon D44, the axle tubes are the same as the D30, you get a bigger ring and pinion, but no added strength.

If you buy the ProRock 44 packed at Northridge 4x4 it will run you $4,950, if you build a Dana 30 it costs about $4,926. For an accurate comparison I put together a parts list that matched the Pro Rock 44, the D30 did not include the 1310 yoke, so it will more expensive. I hope this helps answer this age old question from a financial perspective.

Thats a pretty good chart you have! Prices on the 30 are pretty close could be a tad high but in my opinion makes perfect sense!

This is another option, but how many on here know how to weld? There's a lot of prep time and welding time into this truss, and that isn't a cheap investment much like C's or inner sleeves. It still doesn't address the castor or the clearance of a ProRock 44.

Dynatrac I would never discount the the benefit of a new axle but to most of us $ is a factor.

David,

How much would the front PR 44 be with a Tru Trac instead of ARB?
