Default D-Ring/Shackles, to paint or not?

Ok so I've got my snazzy front and rear Ace bumpers all mounted and I have a pair of D-ring/shackles on each, the question is to paint just the pin red to match my Jeep, leave them alone or paint the whole piece red?

Right now their just some sort of anodized silver color with the plastic red sleeves so they don't rattle

I've seen a lot of them with just the pin painted red but I'm seeing more and more lately where they painted the whole thing red...

Suggestions? Pictures?

Hopefully my image link worked...

Matthew

I worked for a rigging company that painted theirs and they used them without issues. You should expect to re-paint them occasionally but that's just part of having them painted.

I don't leave mine on just in case they grow feet and walk away, so the paint doesn't do me any good with them being in the cargo area.

It's just with the red plastic things to stop rattle they look kind of weird, I think it's because the "red" plastic is almost a lipstick pinkish red

Maybe I'll try without the plastic things front and back

I plan on using them as needed, I also have a Warn winch going on very soon

I got the same set up as yours and kinda like. I got a Warn shackle all silver and think I might just paint the pin red to match.

I think I got the original idea from seeing a rig that had the ARB shackle and they anodize their pins red

I'd be airbrushing it so it would be a very fine layer, not going to rattle can it, don't want to muck up the threads with a heavy coat of paint

The yellow definitely works well with your black and yellow color scheme, nice rig!

What size wheels/tires do you have on there?
