Default Cutting your stock bumper

If you cut your stock bumper to a stubby, can you install an aftermarket metal bumper on later down the road?

No need to buy anything, make the inside chop clean and strait you will need to go through some of the stock steal under it fit the chopped ends under and see how much you wont gone and remove what you need too. I get alot of nice comments on it but I will go with steel some day.
