I have cut my flares and I was wondering, has anybody ever had a fender fly off the vehicle while going down the highway after they cut them?????

I lost both on the drivers side when passing a few semi's in a row,but they made it a year or so it's probably something I did wrong I'm sure. I have a few buddies who have had them for a couple of years with no problems,I just went with the Smittybilt steels.
