My plastic flares have pushed in the sheet metal, I cant imagine what a steel fender would do.
I like Offroad evolutions approach, as long as it gets clean up for the production sets

All that extra sheet is needed to properly fit steel fenders, without it the tub cannot take the extra weight. The REV111 were much much better in that they used composites to keep the weight down.
I have a set of steel fenders, but will probably not use them for now if anyone wants them I'll sell them cheap.
