That setup is sweet!! What did you use to make the box? welded? I wish I could see this in person b/c I was visualizing something similar...

Which one? I've done it more than once by accident, but I thought I fixed them all. I wouldn't ever edit someone's post on purpose unless there was something breaking the rules.....and even then I'd make sure from the boss.

That's a dark power... use it wisely bigblue.

And Zak, that's a sick setup. Wouldn't that restrict airflow to the point of the stock airbox, though?

guys guys guys...let's keep the posts somewhat on topic please....

I am trying to get some info about a custom airbox and you guys keep exciting me when I see someone has responded to my post. I get on here to find you "bosses" talking about your sweet forum powers.

I'm not a boss... and the only power I have is an uncanny ability to hijack every thread I open...

Seriously, though. I had a Trueflow XDI cold air intake. It is about the loudest, most wide open, best breathing intake out there. And I really didn't notice a difference.

It did however, suck in enough water into my engine to blow a piston rod through the crankshaft.

Moral of the story: in my opinion, anything that sufficiently protects the CAI is going to restrict airflow to the level of the stock box. I'd just put an AFI drop-in in there, get a snorkel, and call it quits.
