If you look around enough, the gussets can be welded for the cost of a 12-pack

yup!

I did all the prep for inner sleeves; pulled axles, cleaned tubes, drilled holes, etc.... and a friend of a friend brought over service truck and welded everything for me right in the driveway. Nothing like bartering with beer!!
