Default Crunch time...last wheel question I swear! :)

I have 36x13.5x17 Iroks I want on my JK. I put on Xenon narrow flares this week. Next week I will be putting on a 2.5BB. I need to know if I am better off with either a 17x8 wheel with 4.25" backspacing, or a 17x9 or 17x10 wheel with 4.625" backspacing. Is the 8" wheel any less safe on the road? And is it worth it to gain the 3/8" of backspacing?

Its coming down to the wire and I procrastinated ordering wheels too long. My local shop says Pro Comp 97 series in the size I need are 3 weeks out from Pro Comp...nat'l backorder......hopefully he is wrong and I can get some from another place (waiting to hear back on stock). I need wheels by end of next week preferrably. Thanks!

IMO 4.6" of backspace with a 36" tire is too much. You may end up rubbing on your suspension arms while turning sitting on level ground. It will get even worse when the suspension is flexed.

I would choose 17X8 with 4.25" of backspace. I think you will get many opinions on this by the time Monday rolls around. Good luck getting the wheels!

Maybe I should just get what I really want....Spyder Locks. I think 17x8 with 4.25" will probably be what I try to get. Im sure there will be more opinions. I just hope 4.25 is enough too.....the 3.5" of the Spyderlocks would be ideal....mmmmmm....the credit card people would love me for that one.

I would go with 17X10 with spacers personally.

Just cut the sides of the Jeep off and put 44s on it.

I have decided to just get the 17x9 5" backspacing wheels and use spacers. Now the question is Spidertrax 1.5" or TF 1.25" spacers.

I personally would go with the 17x9 or 17x10 with the 13.5 wide tire

Finally found some soft 8s that I can get my hands on. 5" backspacing on the wheels. Any opinions on spacers? 1.5" or 1.25" is the question. Gonna order tomorrow or monday. Its the difference between 3.5" and 3.75" effective B.S. I have narrow Xenon flares so they are already going to stick out big time....which I dont mind. But will the extra .25" be useful as far as clearance of anything? Thanks!
