Default Cragar Soft 8's bs ???

I know this has been discussed in great detail, but I can't get a straight answer. Just added 265/75/16 BFG A/Ts to my Unlimited X w/ the original rims. I'll be ordering the soft 8s soon. Better to go with 16x8 with 5" backspacing or 16x7 with 4" of bs? I'd like a little more stance and don't mind if they sitck out a little, but don't want to run into rubbing issues. Thanks in advance to all who reply! Pics welcome ...

I am running the 16x8 with 5 inch backspace with no rub at all. I have pics on here if you search my username. They stick out about an inch and my tires are 12" wide.

Hey 04DrBlur -- I'd like to sit where you are at (about an inch or so out from the flare), but you are also running 12 wide tires. Mine are only at 10.5. Whould I be better off going with 4" backspacing and the 16x7s?

265/75/16 ... I think that's about 31" in diameter and 10.5" wide ...

Yeah ... that sounds right. Where do you think those would sit best ... 4" or 5"?

I would go with the 5 inch. They will still get you to the the flare and will sit out about 1/2 inch and you will not have any rubbing issues with that tire size. I think the 4 inch backspace would be too much for a tire that size. The tire you have is not that wide and with a 4 inch backspace it may look funny. just my .02

Is it the bigger the back spacing the less they stick out? Or the other way around?A

4.5" will stick out more or less than a 5"

That's what my gut was telling me. I don't mind them sticking out a bit, or staying close to flush ... but I don't want anything over the top. I guess I'll go 16x8 with 5" bs then ... thanks.
