Default Cragar Soft 8s in 16x8 or 16x7???????

I'm about to get some Cragar soft 8s and need to know if ya'll would recommend 16x7s with 4" of BS or 16x8s with 5" of BS. I will be running these on stock suspension with 285/75/16s. First of all, will these tires even git on the 7" wide rim I guess should be my first question. haha If no, then I guess that helps me make up my mind. ha

They will fit on a 7" rim, but there is no real benefit. You would have to lower your air pressure for regular driving to keep the center of the tire from wearing out.

An 8" rim would be MUCH better suited to a 285/75R16 tire.

The backspacing should be fine with either

16x8s. Then when you decide to get bigger tires later you wont have to upgrade. Plus the jeep will have a better stance.
