Default Cowl Snorkel ideas?

Hey, does anyone have any ideas how a snorkel like this could be done on a JK? I like the idea of the snorkel, but wouldn't want the tube hanging on the side of my jeep to be snagged on a rock ya know? Let me know what you guys think.

I think that would lift your air intake by 3 inches... JK air intake right under the hood.

Maybe moving the intake to the cowl would give room for a 2nd battery under the hood?
