I like the old CJ tail gates so I was thinking of cutting some of the skin off and replacing it with a new CJ skin like the one below and since my jeep is black just hurculinering the entire thing, what do you think. If you want, you can remove your spare tire 'bumpers' and find rubber plug
to fit the hole at any good parts store.
As for the bolt holes, look for plastic screws just like the ones that
are on your interior trim pieces.

I purchased and installed the Warrior cover plate, brake light, and license plate holder. Had it all painted to match my Mango Tango and it looks great. The biggest job was rewiring from the old license plate location to the tailgate. I also purchased a plug from Mopar for where the old license plate assembly was.

Goto home depot, down the hardware isle.
There you can get rubber stoppers in verious sizes.
Take your original bolt for size reference. Then get stoppers slightly larger to get a good seal in the tailgate holes
