Default a couple questions

I have a custom rear bumper. my wife got me a custom front bumper from xtreme terrain and a winch from quadratec. never knew how heavy a winch was. my question is I want to get a lift and I heard that with all the extra weight I should go with a coil lift. what are some good 2'' or 2 1/2'' coil lift and do I need better than stock shocks or will shock ext. brackets be good enough. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE.

The search function is your friend, there are lots of threads on lifts. The coil vs spacer depends on what you plan to do with it same with the shock question.

I offer this thread to educate yourself a bit more about the JK suspension and lifts in general.

I have an 08 jku with a teraflex 2.5 coil lift front bumper and 10k winch you will lose about 1/2 to 3/4 .so i added a 1" teraflex spacer to compensate the extra weight works great. On the new lift you will gain more than two and a half inches of lift. One thing about Teraflex they stand behind their products.good luck

I read the lift thread. I guess I should have worded my question differently. I didn't know if I went with a spacer lift if it would wear out my stock shocks really quick with all the extra weight. and if I should get better shocks with longer travel with the coil lift. thanx super freak that is the coil lift im looking at so I think I will add 1'' spacer up front. do you think I should swap out to a better shock with longer travel? I don't do anything crazy just when roads are bad or im headin out to my camp out on the mountain with a occasional jeep trail ride. thanx

The issue is the stock coils don't like weight. Esp the lower rate ones.
When ever somebody mentions weight I would automatically recommend a coil lift.
