Default Cool Air Intake

Hello,

I just installed a AIRAID cool air intake and spacer on my JK. My problem is that when I step on the accelerator, my MIL comes on and the 3.8 just dies.

I hooked up a OBD2 reader and it gives me p0306 (misfire cylinder 6).

It seems I'm getting way to much oxygen and my controller is shutting down the fuel mixture. Am I correct in my thinking? Do I need to have my controller recalibrated? Has anyone else run into this problem with a cool air intake system?

Thanks

Just installed the same setup and the MIL has been on ever since. No other problems noticed, and my engine hasn't died yet..................

Anybody know what the deal is with the MIL light?

Sorry D220, started to highjack the thread. .......................

Good luck with your situation. I am eager to know what the problem is.

Sounds like you may have damaged the air intake sensor. When you installed the CAI you had to remove a sensor surrounded by a rubber grommet, and re-install it in the new intake tube. If you damage that sensor, or forget to plug it back in it will cause issues with the mixture, and should trigger a check engine light. I would check to make sure it's plugged in. If it is plugged in, you will probably have to take it to the dealer to get the sensor checked.

If you didn't disconnect the battery before the install you can get the indicator light (I did). Disconnect negative battery cable and reconnect. Beware of the horn beep.

Yeah, horn beep causes head trauma from contact with hood...

Shoulda followed instructions......................

Actually, now after driving it 5 or 10 miles the MIL light went off, so I never even got the chance to disconnect and reconnect the negative battery cable!
