Complete Skid Plates System
Is it worth it to get a complete skid plates system from River Rider for $799?
The kit including 4 separate skid plates- gas tank skid, oil pan skid, transmission skid, and transfer case skid.

It is not necessary. The only ones that I would get are the oil pan skid and relocate your evap canister. I have abused my stock skids and they hold up pretty well. I only plan on replacing them when they are no longer usable

in my opinion, no. with the exception of the oil pan, your JK already comes armored up with great skids that work. while we have installed a basic rancho oil pan skid, everything else under our JK is still stock and after 5 years of hammering on them, they are all still holding up just fine.

it's also a lot higher up and does not have a thin belly pan that can be compromised. trust me, it's just not needed. our white jk is a manual and yeah, while it is big now, it wasn't always this big and we've never once hit the tranny.

Do you think 3" lift with 35's high enough not to get hit?

you can hit at any height and tire size. we hit ALL THE TIME with 5" of lift and 40's. my point is that the armor you already have right from the factory is strong enough to do the job of protecting your jeep. your oil pan has no protection and installing something as simple as a rancho skid is all that you really need and even at that, the odds of you hitting it are pretty low.

I use my skids, but I have a stock height Rubicon on rocky Az trails.
Nothing like having the piece of mind of knowing your completely protected when you hear that rock hit underneath, no worries....Well worth the money.
