Comparing 2010 2011 and 2015
I previously owned a 2010 JKU with 3:73 gears. Put 2.5 lift and 35'' duratracs on and was unhappy with loss of power and worried about axels with lift/tires
Traded that for 2011 JKUR with 4:11 and D44 put 2.5 lift and duratracs on, no issues was happy with that.
Traded that for ram pickup which I just demolished and now I thought about buying another 2015 jeep. Question is I don't want to spend an extra 10k on the Rubicon because I never used the discos and locker can be added. I noticed that all non rubicon gears are now 3:23, are they ok with the above mentioned lift and tires with the new more powerful motor? Is the D30 axel thing blown out of proportion?

You can get a non-rubi with either 3.21 or 3.73 gears. I have a 3" lift with 35's and 3.73 gears, it's not bad at all unless you have a lot of hills. I also have a D30 and haven't destroyed it yet. Some topics on forums are definitely blown out of proportion because I've been wheeling the 35's on my un-gusseted and un-sleeved D30 since 2008 and have yet to break anything. Just don't do anything stupid like flooring it in deep mud or a rock garden. If you want a Rubi axle, they're for sale on ebay for around $2000.
Edit: and the 2015 will have the 3.6 Pentastar, which is an improvement from the 3.8 that you had in the '10 and '11.

You will see the gears in two different sections on the window sticker. 3.21's will show first in the standard equipment, then 3.73 may show up toward the end with the package upgrades. (tow group, or whatever)
