Cold Air Intake & Throttle Body

Cold Air Intake & Throttle Body
I have a 2011 4dr wrangler and am looking at cold air intakes. I have heard they will increase hp and gas mileage. Does anyone have any suggestions or experience they can share?

I'll help
HAD an Airaid, sold it to put an AEV Snork on - loved the sound my Airaid made, but no gas mileage improvement. Might have had a bit of HP increase, as I ran my stock filter for a bit before I got the balls to cut my hood, and she was slow to the punch. Gas mileage went back up with with snorkel and K&N drop-in.
Bought Airaid for $240 - great sound/mild HP gain
I BELIEVE a TB is about $100 - total cost for you is $350+
Sold Airaid for $160 - OUCH
Bought snorkel and drop-in for $390 (Northridge and Amazon) - bottom line, spend the extra $40 and save yourself from locking your engine.

Very true. Be that as it may, I got bored over the winter and installed a Viper throttle body and open element air filter on my Heep. I like that way it sounds, throttle response seems better, and because of the way the ECM controls fuel delivery at WOT, it probably makes more power then.
I also have no worries about hydrolocking because the bottom of my filter is higher than the OEM intake and I will not drive in deep water.
Anyway, the bottom line is, if you want to do it, do it. Just don't expect a tangible return on your investment.
