Cheers
a good coil over will utilize 2 different coils, one stacked on top of the other and depending on the application, each with a different spring rate. there will also be what is called a timing ring that allows one coil to do most of the work and depending on the hit, will allow the other to kick in. also, the valving in the shock can be fine tuned and set to react more quickly, prevent packing and of course, it's shear larger size and remote reservoir will help keep the oil inside from heating up and breaking down. trust me, there really is no comparison even when running a top of the line shock with a standard coil and yes, i have done extensive testing of both.

Cheers ! Appreciate the quick response and detail I wasn't aware of. Like grandpa, I've been chewing on the Evo system idea and want to justify the expense.

Like alot of people here, I cannot afford evo's prices and look for quality kits elsewhere.

evo makes a very nice kit but I think this one works quite well:

Sorry man, but sometimes the truth hurts. I don't think WOL was trying to shoot down your kit, it's just not comparable to what both he and I run. Yes, the EVO double throw down is über expensive for the average joe, but if you are wanting the best in articulation and high speed performance there is no other system out there that can touch the EVO DTD. Soon there will be the EVO bolt coilover kit that will make all other bolt on kits inferior. I can say this because, One- I have run other coilover setups on other rigs throughout the years. They are problematic, not well designed from the ground up, but more an after thought. They can't touch the EVO DTD. Two- I have seen firsthand what the new EVO bolt on kit can do performance wise, and it blows conventional coil spring systems away. It's going to set the bar very high for competitors kits. Simply running front coilovers is going to, at best, only give better performance up front. You need to address the rear too, or you haven't really done anything accept put really expensive, tunable shocks up front.

Bottom line, if you really wheel in difficult terrain (compare your photos with Wayoflife's, huge difference) than coilovers are probably needed. Not trying to beat you up here either Other than price, there is no "con" in my book

Below, more pics of EVO DTD articulation, my rig and Mel Wade's EVO1. Only possible with a great designed system for the front and rear

Patiently waiting for EVO's release before I make the jump to C/O. Competition is a good thing.

Will there be only one EVO coilover kit that will work for both 35 with regular fenders and 37s with flat finders?

Why is there a need to bash another companies products? Yes EVO may be the best but does that require the bashing of another manufactures products. Why isn't it possible to put the statistics from the 2 kits side by side and let someone choose? Being an active member of a forum becomes less appealing when the moderators and operators of the forum are bashing everything they don't like.
