Default Coil Spring/Winch Bumper Questions

Hey guys, i'm planning on getting a winch and front bumper soon and im worried about my front springs sagging. Is there I can do to offset it without having to purchase new HD coils?

What bumper and winch? Chances are you will have some sagging regardless. You might go ahead and drop in a 3/4" spacer when you install the bumper and winch. Very inexpensive and problem solved

You could also ask around (jeep buddies or local 4WD shop that installs lifts) to see if they have front coils laying around or cheap, I.E 18 or 19's... You can tell by looking at the tag that is on your coils. The higher the number, stiffer the coil...

I also have a set of ready lift 1-2" adjustable spacers I'm trying to get rid of.. Shoot me a PM if interested..

Smittybilt xrc front bumper and 8k winch. I think im gonna go with new coils but if funds wont allow can I place a spacer on top of a spacer? I already have 2.5 in spacers front and rear.

Just find some front take-off springs from a JKU Rubicon. The spring number should end in no less than 17. 18 or 19 are preferable. Do the rears while you are at it.

If you haven't already upgraded to a better shock, pick up take-off shocks from a Rubi while you are at it. The shocks hafta come off to change the springs anyway. The whole job can be done in less than a 6-pack.

Don't bother with spacers to compensate for extra weight. They just reduce suspension travel because they allow the spring to be more compressed than it was designed for. Spacrs don't make the spring rate correct for the weight, and springs that aren't right for the weight don't ride as well. For an un-lifted Jeep, the right selection of stock springs should make spacers unnecessary.

I've been looking for some 19/60 but those are hard to come by. I'll be browsing the for sale the next few weeks.

Those are the ideal numbers you will want.. I would have to disagree with part of the post above... Do not go lower than 18; even that will still have some take to it with the extra weight... (I did this)
