I have personally owned many many racks in the pass. And by far Gobi rack is one of most well build rack out there on the market. Just ask my 30+ happy customers who have purchased it recently

Please feel free to contact me at dtung@alphaexpedition.com with any questions or concerns.

I helped a friend install a Gobi, that he got from Alpha Expedition and it is very solid and mounts to the A pillar and the frame in the rear. Very solid.

For those that do have the Gobi, could I ask you to post up pictures of how you ran your lighting wiring from the light bar into the fender or where ever you entered the vehicle?

I don't have the lights mounted on the rack at this point... but there are some other installs that you can find photos on Google where they have done it (using a Vision X XIL-800 42"bar on the Wild Boar). You drill a hole near the bar, run it through the tube to the front mount, drill a small exit hole, and then route it through to the engine compartment. Only about 2" of wire ends up exposed and it is hidden by the bracket quite well.

Take a look at MBRP rack? I like the thickness of their racks and built well.. unless you have soft top only.. its on my future buy list..

I think the MBRP rack is nice but I will need something that will work with either top.

yeah, the MBRP rack is never going to be a dual top option and they messed up the design...that's to bad, since the old design showed some promise and offered some competition in the rack arena. So, gotta go with the Gobi

Default Kargo Master?

Anybody have the Kargo Master Congo Rack? Seems great for a roof tent at $350, but it has no basket. 500lb capacity.
