I don't necessarily think Chinese vs American is the issue, I think it's the reputation of the company. Many great quality things are made in China these days..

The thing is that knockoff items from no-name companies can skip on quality.. ARB cares about their brand reputation and want's to ensure the customer has a good product experience. They have quality control and test their product.

A fly-by-night no-name brand could have terrible metallurgy, and they don't test it because they can count on people always trying to save a buck. When they get a bad reputation, they change their name (if they even have one).

In my experience, if you're expecting something to last a long time (like 5+ years in your driveline) - then spend the extra money and get something you can be sure about. If you're buying something cheap like cupholders or floor mats, or street queen bumpers / rock sliders that will never see the trail, go ahead and get no-name knock offs.

Find the youtube video the OP talks about in his first post and you can see the difference in 'quality'.

Amen Brother..... I'm tired of all the Chinese @#$% that comes to our shores. I buy AMERICAN as often as I can. Not only do they not care at all what kind of junk they send here, they don't even care about their own people-Look at their pollution levels. The more people blindly buy Chinese crap the more of us AMERICANS become jobless. Our parents gave a #@%&, Why don't we !

Boy, buying those seems like a bad idea on so many levels.

What if they break? You are SOL.

What if the wrong ones show up? You are SOL.

What if you need parts? You are SOL.

etc...

+1. ARB USA rocks!

Never heard of them denying a warranty on anything.

Chinese knock off air locker??? Sounds like a purchase you would end up regretting.

Buying LED lights or grab handles made in Asia doesn't bother me. No great loss if they fail.

I wouldn't buy a Colt .45 Chinese knock off because it was 1/2 price. Probably blow my hand off.

I bought a Yukon zip locker it came with a free lifetime warranty because the shop that installed it was certified Yukon installer that includes labor and the ring and pinion if the locker damages it. I looked at arb but they told me they didn't warranty if you used over stock size tires. Yukon limits to 35s making me wish I bought ox lockers which has a no tire size limit warranty.
