Default Cheap Winch - SUPERWINCH EPI 6.0 - Need Advice ASAP

Hey guys,

I have the opportunity to buy a new in box SUPERWINCH EPI 6000 (he says its a EPI 6000 but I assume he means the 6.0) for $400 bucks.

I know its a good deal, but for the rare occasional use, will it be able to move my rig? Stats in sig.

Thanks

A 6,000 lbs. winch will not be able to pull out a 4 door JK in a sticky situation!

Default winch

IMO, 6000lb is too small especially since you have a 4 dr? I would not go any smaller than a 8k winch.

I believe it is recomended to have a winch with pulling power at 1 1/2 times the weight of your vehicle as a minimum. So you want at least an 8000# pull

That's what I thought...damnit, when I saw what these things go for new I got excited.

How come the average price of the 6.0 is the same as the 9.0? On Quadratec theres only a $15 difference between the two.

I wondered that also, surely the 9.0 motor is stronger and more costly to manufacture ?

If you don't mind using a snatch block to rig it 2:1 it is big enough.

I am with the it's to small crowd; you are better off waiting until you can afford a larger winch, waiting for things suck, but you will be happier that you did in the end...
