Default cheap winch

If anyone is looking for a winch on a budget harbor freight has the 8k on sale for $299 and you can use the 20% off coupon found online...its in store only though. The warranty covers ANYTHING...even broken cables.

Actually there are kind of a lot of good reviews, or did I miss something? Do you have personal experience or do you have Warn on your bumper and therefore everything else is crap?

Thanks for the tip. Kind of far away from me, though.

I have the SRC8 Smittybilt and it is the same price. It does the job and would be more reputable than a harbor freight winch. Just my opinion.

Read an arcitle on a winch shoot out for 9000 lb winches and they tested 6 or 7 different brands. The Harbor Freight was one of three left standing at the end of the test behind Warn and I think Ramsey. All the others broke after a few pulls. It's not fast but it doesn't quit. For that price if it pulls you out a couple times it's worth it.
