Changing oil with RockHard skid plate?

Changing oil with RockHard skid plate?

What is the process?
Can you drain and replace the plug without removing the skid?

Yes you can there is a cutout that is very nice so that you can do it.

And there is an angled piece of steel in the cutout that keeps the oil from shooting on top of the skid.

Doesn't it have a sloped piece (sorry for crappy description) to help make sure the oil doesn't run all over in the pan? I think someone had raised a possible concern that the piece could puncture the pan. Is there any real concern with that?
