Does your JK burn any oil?
I'm at 75k, and burn about a quart every 1k-1.5k miles. Been using Dino 5w20 since the beginning, swapped the PCV valve around 70k, didn't help. I was thinking of switching to synthetic, but paranoid that if I switch the detergents will clean any gunk that might be slowing/stopping the oil burning.

oil change intervals depend on filter you use, if the filter is designed for synthetic oil you can go 6,000+ if not do not exceed 6,000
you can change back to regular oil at any time the " you have to stick with syn after you change" is a myth according to Moblie 1's website & others I've researched in the past, I had a Jeep Liberty & switched back & forth every other to 3rd oil change ( since new in 04) & never had a problem, did it to just run some good stuff in it once & awhile went 120,000 ( then traded) with out an issue, mostly HWY with trail rides in the mix once a month & ALOT of long trips, dealer even told me it would be fine & they were right
believe what you want, just telling you my experience & what I've read not tryin to start a war here

I use full synthetic and change it between 3000 to 5000, 3000 most of the time. Got 3200 on my oil now and have an oil change sittin by my door ready to change.

What do you pay for Royal Purple? You can get a 5-quart jig of Mobil 1 Syn at Wally World for about $25.
And I usually go 5k-6k miles for change intervals. Used oil is fairly dark, but still fairly transparent, so it could probably go longer, but it's cheap insurance. Mine has gotten synthetic from day 1.

I think its up to about 5000 with a synthetic blend and 7500 with full synthetic. The problem is most filters are only good for about 5-6000. I would stick to that. I usually switch out the oil between 5-6000
