So my JKU has gone to the dealer for oil changes since day one. 5w20 is what is in it non synthetic. I want to change to synthetic.. I have 89000 miles on my 2010!

Have heard all different numbers, but I switched to synthetic and figure 5k miles is a good number. Some say you can go longer, but I do mostly stop and go so that works for me. Just my

Oil Changes are cheaper than engine changes lol.

I figured about 5-7k. Did my first change at 5k. I'm at 10,400mi and my synthetic still looks and smells clean. I heard that the light doesn't come on for the pentastars until around 10k bit that's waaaaaaay too long for me. I'm now wondering maybe at 8k for the oil change and 4 k for a filter change? Any thoughts?

I'm at 75k, and burn about a quart every 1k-1.5k miles. Been using Dino 5w20 since the beginning, swapped the PCV valve around 70k, didn't help. I was thinking of switching to synthetic, but paranoid that if I switch the detergents will clean any gunk that might be slowing/stopping the oil burning.
