Default Center Caps?

I recently just installed a lift and new tires on my 2012 unlimited. The wheels are MT classic 2s and were installed on my 07 2dr without any issues. When the shop mounted them on my 2012 the shop said that the wheels were rubbing on the front calipers (the back spacing is 4 7/16) and I had to get spacers. So I ordered the spacers and got everything finished up, then went I got the invoice they said that because I didn't have center caps with the wheels that I would have future problems and would need to torque them every 100 miles! To me that doesn't seen right. Do center caps really make that much of a difference? Any advice would be great.

Center caps have no effect on lugnut tightness.

Could this be because they did not bother to use loctite?

May or may not be something you are interested in, but I thought this was clever:
