Caster: I want the truth !!!
Okay, finally I bought the Teraflex adj. lower control arms (model 001653700)
I will receive it in about 7 working days.
#1 I use the stock Rubi rims with the stock Rubi tires (BFG KM LT255 75 R17)
#2 I have the RC 4" lift kit with 2.2 shocks
My local alignment technician will intall the arms, and I will have to tell him what caster do I want...
If you ask what is the perfect caster to 10 Jeepers, you will have 10 different anwers!
I read somewhere that Wayoflife recommends +5 to +6 deg.
In the Rough Country instructions: it's 4.6 deg.
Something is sure: I want a caster that WILL NOT help contribute death wobble!
I know that a caster less than 4.6 deg. will help contribute death wobble, but what are the consequences if you have caster with over 6 deg.? I know a Jeeper who has 7 deg.!!!
I don't want to insult anyone, but if you're not sure of the answer, please don't post. This is a very important post for me. Many thanks!
NB: WAYOFLIFE, if you read me, PLEASE HELP!

3" lift with 35" tires. I just added JKS adjustable track bars and increased my castor from low 4's to 5.1 HUGE DIFFERENCE MUCH MORE DRIVEABLE.
I'm not sure I wouldn't consider a little more, after driving it both ways assuming you have at least 35's, I recommend no less than 5.0
best regards

I have mine adjusted to around 5 to 6 . If you get to much castor it can cause you to get a slight vibration that you can feel. if you have to little castor it will make your jeep feel real flighting. everyone is going to be a little different the key is to get it dialed in to where it feels right to you. If you are having someone else get it set up for you i would say have them set it between a 5 and a 6. then you might have to adjust it a little from there

you need a angle finder. here's perfect directions right here.http://project-jk.com/jeep-jk-write-...ignment#caster

I have the RC 4" with 35's on a 4 door. I just set them at 23" and the ride is great with no death wobble or vibration. I told the alignment guy I was shooting for 6 deg +/-.5 and he gave me the . .

Check the write up section for WOL self alignment instructions
...To JKfreedom, I haven't heard of negative caster contributing to death wobble, however with negative caster, or less than +4 you will notice "flighty" steering...or VERY touchy, sensitive steering. On the other hand, as others mentioned too much + caster, ie +7 and greater will contribute to front driveshaft vibration and eventually failure. Yes, as WOL suggests +6-6.5 provides excellent steering manners without subjecting the front driveshaft to too much stress.
As it is, with my Teraflex lowers on in conjunction with my 3"BD lift I have mine set to +5.5 using the angle finder depicted in WOL writeup, works well, no driveshaft vibes, and front has decent manners.

LOL!! looks like everyone already covered all the bases.
the truth of caster is that the more you can get, the better your jeep will drive/handle on pavement. the problem is, the more caster you have, the greater the angle your front driveshaft will be where it hooks up to the pinion and this will give you vibrations and big time so if you have an aftermarket u-joint style shaft. so, the real issue regarding caster is how much can you add to get the best possible handling and without creating vibes and from experience, about +6° is where you want to be or at least with a +/- 3" lift and 35's. if you are still running a stock shaft, you can get more in but it really isn't necessary. if you have an aftermarket shaft and are over 4" of lift, you might have to reduce this all the way back to stock which is +4.2°.
regarding death wobble, yes, a lack of positive caster can cause it to occur. you ever get a shopping cart at the grocery store with a bum wheel? that is essentially DW. however, so long as you have at least stock caster, this should not be a problem.

I just went through this with my JK. I have the Tera 2.5 with a spacer up front, running 35's on factory wheels with spacers. I have a front adjustable track bar and a rear relocation bracket. I just added RK front upper and lower adjustable arms. I am right around 5 degrees. Before the control arms the Jeep would wander everywhere on the road, not death wobble, but just wandered around like it was . Now it's drivable again.
