Caster Adjustment Needed????
I had a 2" Superlift budget boost installed on my Unlimited X. It seems a little "darty" but steers great with no wandering. Installer missed on centering the steering wheel and I am anal about that (Monk Syndrome I guess) so I tweeked it myself. I was wandering if with this amount of boost should I need to have the caster adjusted to get rid of the dartiness (is that a word?) or just leave it alone?
Thanks,
Jim

What they said only I would recommend against cam bolts. They may be a cheap fix but they will require you to slot the mount holes on the axle and from what I have seen in the past, it is difficult to keep the bolts from coming loose and moving if you play hard on the trail and once the holes are slotted, there's no turning back. Need I say, if it were me, I'd save the money and wait until I could afford adjustable upper front control arms to do the job right

The lower control arm bracket already has pre-puched alignment slots with cam stops. You just knock out the pre-punched area and install the cam bolts. The only problem is this is still not enough caster for correct road feel. It will help a bunch though. I havent had any problems with the cam bolts yet and I'm pretty hard when it comes to wheeling here in the great "Northwest".

Wayoflife, Jeeperswife, and I put the front upper adjustable control arms on my Jeep the other day. It has made a world of difference. That being said I think it could use a smidge more of adjustment so I will also do the lower arms when they become available in a couple of weeks. (The uppers are maxed out to the shortest possible adjustment)
The term darty is a good description as to the feel." WANDER" fits the bill also. And the faster you drive the dartier it feels!

If you want to make an adjustment without using the cams and without spending a lot of money on arms, you could punch out the slots in the lower mount and have someone tack-weld some washers on the outside of the mounts with the lower control arm bolts holding them in place. The welds could always be ground off if you needed to make more adjustments.

Thanks for the responses guys! I have put about 75 miles on it and it is not tooo bad. I did some research and the only cams I found were in a Diamond 3" kit, but have not found them as a seperate item yet.

I only have (2) 3/4 spacer's up front and mine is wandering left & right (darty) more than stock, but now that "Eric" of Skidrow Offroad informed me that the (T-MAX EWI -10000 Winch & his Nightcrawler Bumper will have a combined weight of 160lbs I will go with a Tera 2 1/2" or 3" Coil Springs up front. If needed I'll use one of my 3/4" spacer's to level. My Son held a yard stick & took a measurement on front Bumper to ground, then I (175 lbs) stood on the front bumper and it drooped 1 full inch. I'll probably order Lower Control Arms to fix the Caster. Quadratec is showing FT have these list listed .
