I am going forwad with it this weekend if my installer has a slot opn, otherwise it will be as soon as he has time. I already swallowed the bullet for the gears. they look nice..sitting on the shelf

I will let you all know what I find out, I have numerous inquiries out as well. I am going to have the parts dept order me a carrier for both the 4.10s and the 3.21s and see what the difference is...if there is any.

You can install aftermarket lockers in the Dana 44 if you drill out the ring gear holes in the locker to the correct size

but good find on the build

ok I BELIEVE this is the way it is. you will not have to get a new carrier to install the gears. with the older axles where a new carrier was needed for the gears it was to "offset" the ring gear in towards the pinion. what I beleive is happening now is the ring gear is just a little "thicker" to compensate for the "offset" of getting a new carrier.

hopefully that makes a littel more sence as to why you cannot get any carriers for the diff gear ratio's

I have front and rear ARB's in the garage waiting for front gears and both install kits. I will let everyone know how I make out once all parts are in.

Default No Carriers Needed !!!!!!!!

OKAY FOLKS HERE IS THE SCOOPTALKED TO NICK AT SUPERIOR GEAR AND ALL JK GEARS ARE THICK CUT, NO CARRIERS ARE NEEDED. ONLY CATCH IS ON THE EARLY RUBICON REARS WHERE THEY HAD A SMALLER BOLT PATTERN. THIS DOES NOT AFFECT THOSE OF US WITH 3.21S, THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN WAITING CAN PROCEED WITH A GREAT BIG SMILE AND BUT THOSE GEARS!!!
