Can you help???
FIRST TIME TO DO THIS, SO MAY NEED SOME ADVICE.
I WANT TO PIT SOME 4.88'S IN MY REAR DIFF BUT HAVE NEVER DONE IT BEFORE, IM ON ROAD 80% OF TIME AND NEED GAS MILEAGE OVER POWER.
-WHO HAS THE BEST GEARS? AND WHERE CAN I GET THEM?
-WHERE CAN I FIND A WEB SITE WITH INSTRUTIONS?
-ANY EXTRA PRODUCTS I NEED FOR THE PROCEDURE.
ANY ADVISE YOU GUYS COULD ADD WOULD ME MUUUUCH APPRECIATED!

Guess my first bit of advice would be to turn off caps and bold
Manual or auto? What size tires are you going with?
Do you have a 4wheel drive JK? If so, you need to do 'both' axles, not just the rear.
Check the JK-Write-ups section, I know there is at least one good step-by-step gear install write-up in there. You'll need specialty tools, a bit of mechanical aptitude, and lots of patience to get it right.
You may be much better off having it professionally done...

Found the guide by BlacknorthernJK, read it start to finish and see if this is really something you're comfortable trying on your own...

You should also call all of the 4x4 and driveline shops in your local area and check prices. Generally, it'll be in the $1200-$1700 range for parts and labor for both axles.
If you decide to install yourself, shop around online, but as you'll see in nearly everyones sig, be sure to check with 'northridge4x4.com' also.

I've always heard that with gears, its more about the install and break in rather than the gear itself.
Theres also a train of thought circulating that there are only a few JK gear manufacturers and those are all just sold to companies and rebadged.
While gears don't sound tricky, I hear they can create lots of issues if not done right. I know plenty of guys that will do full lift installs, caster, pinion, alignment and engine work, but won't touch gears.
