Can someone identify these roof tracks
Has anyone used a system like this? I just bought my jeep and this was on it when I got it. Apparently you can just strap surfboards and snowboards etc straight onto the roof. The pink bolts swivel into the tracks.
Ultimately I'm not sure how effective this is or if it's even safe??
If anyone has any experience or opinion it would be awesome
Ultimately I would like to try attach rails across so I can attach a snowboard holder
Cheers!

Those are "airline" cargo rails.
Not an actual roof rack, and since the factory top isn't desinged to take any additional load I'd be careful.
There are no crossbars available for the cargo rails, but you could DIY some.

I was planning something like this. Never saw pic except in my head.
There are many attachments, such as ones with exposed 3/8" bolts. I figure if I take some aluminum angle, drill holes to place over bolts, I can then use nylocks and have my rails.
If only for light cargo, should work well. I'd use a flat bar aluminum stock as a backing plate. Soft pack cargo for tent or clothing should be adequate. Takes the light and bulky items out of cargo hold.
Thoughts?
