Default Can I lower my JK an inch?

Hey fellas,

Well earlier this year I decided to upgrade my JK from a 2.5" TF BB lift and 35's to a 3.5" AEV lift and 37's. I ended up having to regear to 5:13's, swap out both the front and rear drive shafts and all of the control arms as well to make the 37's work. The 37's I got (Toyo RT's) actually ended up measuring out to 36.25." This left a bigger tire-wheel well gap than I had planned for.

I ideally would like to lower the Jeep back down an inch without having to swap out the shocks and coil springs etc.

Is there a way to do so without swapping out the entire lift kit for another? Thanks fellas.

Just swap the springs. Get something a little stiff to prevent sagging from bumpers etc. Your AEV lift probably brought you around 4-4.5

You're might have to adjust your bump stops so you don't bottom out your shocks. But other than that and adjusting your control arm length you will be fine.

I know that I'll have to swap out the bump stops.

So all I need is new springs?

Lol yeah I'm going with the stock bumpers and spareless for now.

I'm trying to keep the Jeep light for MPG's, gas is $4.00 a gallon here in SoCal

Bumpstops, swaybar links, use the middle hole in the correction brackets if you have them.

I would go down to 33s and a leveling kit if this is an issue.

37's and 3.5-4" of lift does NOTHING for your gas milage...ha ha. I would add bumpers and call it a day.

IF you are properly set up now with bumpstops, changing coils has no affect on them. There is no correlation between coil height and needed bump stop.

Your sway bar links should be fine as well if only changing 1" You might need some minor adjustments to track bars and control arms if you want everything to be perfect.

This is massively off topic, but awesome article in JP mag DIRTMAN! Your rig is sweet.
