Thinking about picking up either 33's or 35"s. Was wondering if either of these will fit on the factory spare mount, or will I have to get a new rear bumper and spare holder to accommodate the difference in size???

They will probably fit. The most you would need to fit is a spacer and several companies make them. The problem is the weight. The extra weight of a larger tire often causes damage to the tailgate, over time. The weight + vibrations separate the spot welds on the tailgate.

Both sizes will fit. You will need a spare tire spacer if you plan on running a 12.5 wide tire, but I would suggest a full size tire carrier. I ran a 35 with the mbrp spacer for about a year. The carrier made awful noise and bent my tailgate out slightly. No major issues but not to my liking.

I have a Mickey Thompson MTZ
35" x 12.5" tire on the back of mine with a Mickey rim 4.5 backspacing no problems and no spacer needed.
Before that had a 33" Mickey tire/rim 12.5 wide no problem 2yrs.
It will work for a while but eventually will get a tire carrier too.

I run a 35x12.50x17" on my factory mount, with no spacer. Its all in the offset.

FYI I've had zero issues with bending or breaking anything. Almost had it on for two years.

I would suggest getting a set of Daystar tailgate bumpstops #KJ09144BK to help keep the tire snug.

I had a spacer with the OEM bumper but don't need it with the Rugged Ridge XHD rear bumper. I have the tire stops but they created a pivot point. I need to find a way to brace the top or bottom. Or break down and finally get a tire carrier.

If you can Fab/weld then make your own spacer. That way, you can space it out and up the amount that you really need. I have done a couple of them. When I make them, I set it up so that when the gate closes, the tire is actually resting on the tire cut out of the bumper. And as for the rubber spacers, 3/4 heater hose will work. Just shove it inside the original rubber bumpers and cut to length need.

That what I have done. And no issues for 2 years now.
